Resource Group N.A. is a full-service government relations and business development firm serving clients throughout Florida and the nation.  Currently, headquartered and managed in West Palm Beach, Florida, Resource Group also maintains an office in Tallahassee to better serve our clients’ needs.  Resource Group N.A. is fully licensed and accredited within the State of Florida, employing its Founder and CEO Thomas DeRita, Jr. as a registered Florida lobbyist.

Since 1999, Resource Group has been producing solutions and results for our diverse client base of governmental entities, national corporations, trade associations, local businesses and non-profit corporations.  Resource Group has built a reputation of integrity and credibility among our clients and within our community.  Thomas DeRita has more than 40 years of business development and government relations experience.  

Resource Group creates and implements effective government relations strategies designed to win support from lawmakers, officials and staff for our clients’ policy initiatives and funding requests.  Our clients depend on sound strategic advice lobbying expertise and established relationships with key legislative and governmental contacts at the local, state and federal level.

Resource Group has successfully represented numerous governmental entities within Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast including:  City of Palm Beach Gardens, City of Riviera Beach, City of Pahokee, City of Lake Worth, City of Port St. Lucie and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.  The Resource Goup also represents Place of Hope, Protect Our Beaches, Children and Family Connection, Arrigo Dodge and Pero Family Farms.

By working collaboratively with our clients, as well as with local, state and federal officials and their staffs, we have been able to secure significant amounts of funding for infrastructure improvements and other appropriations.  In addition, on behalf of our clients, we have passed major policy initiatives and defeated others.

Resource Group N.A. works with our clients to facilitate understanding of the development potential of a property.  Our specialization in understanding regulations, and the appropriate application of rights and entitlements available to a property, assists clients in maximizing potential opportunities.

Thomas DeRita, Jr., is the Founder and Chief Executive officer of Resource Group N.A.  Under his leadership, RGNA has emerged as on of Florida’s premier government relations firms.

For more than forty years, he has advised and represented numerous individuals, corporations and non-profits in public affairs, political fundraising and business development.

He has raised millions of dollars for various local, state and federal candidates in Florida and throughout the country.

Prior to founding Resource Group N.A., Tom served as the Congressional Liaison for the South Florida Automotive Dealers Chapter of the American International Automobile Dealers Association.  In addition, he held various executive positions with Hoffman LaRoche.

For more that thirty years, Tom held executive management positions and ownership interests with various automobile companies.  During his years in the automotive industry, Tom received numerous awards and honors for his outstanding achievements.  In 2002, he was appointed by Commissioner Charles Bronson to serve on the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services’ Motor Vehicle Repair Advisory Council.

His active leadership in the business community and with numerous charitable organizations in Palm Beach and Martin Counties has forged long personal relationships with local, state and federal elected officials.  In 1992, Tom founded the Big Heart Brigade, an organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of those in need by providing a holiday meal and other support.  Each year, the Big Heart Brigade undertakes an annual effort to supply Thanksgiving meals to tens of thousands of people thoughout South Florida.  To date, the Big Heart Brigade has fed more than 1.2 million people.

Tom has served on many community boards including Big Heart Brigade, Martin Memorial Health System Foundation, YMCA of the Treasure Coast, Economic Council of Martin County (Past President) and the Adam Walsh Foundation.  In 2002, he received the prestigious Rainbow Award from the Missing and Exploited Children - Adam Walsh Foundation.

Tom was appointed by former Florida Governor Charlie Crist to serve on his Transitions Team in 2006.  Governor Crist appointed Tom to the Judicial Nominating Committee for the 15th Circuit Court in 2008.  In 2010, the Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Council named Tom DeRita - “Man of the Year,” for outstanding service to that organization.

Tom Served as an Adjunct Professor teaching business and as a member of the Board of Governors at Northwood University.  He earned a business degree from the University of Rhode Island.  In 2000, Northwood University honored Tom with a Doctor of Laws degree.  Appointed to Board of Keiser University new flagship campus, formerly Northwood University of West Palm Beach, after spending 23 years as a Board of Governor at Northwood, DeRita agrees to remain with Keiser. DeRita says, "This is the best possible move for Keiser as they bring a vibrant new approach to the residential campus while enhancing the Northwood ideals. I believe this new level of professional will excel while adding a residential element to Keiser's growing footprint in Florida and its international campuses."

M. Jordan Conners is a lobbyist consultant for the Resource Group.  He has worked professionally in the government relations arena for more than two decades.  In that time, he has been involved in the legislative and regulatory process on the federal, state and local level.  He has held positions in Florida government, the Florida Legislature, the Florida Governor’s Office in Washington, D.D., and two professional trade associations.

Jordan has represented numerous types of non-profit organizations, leading business firms and local governments.  He provides consulting and representation on matters involving health care, transportation, appropriations infrastructure, economic development, communications and business development issues.

He has served as the lead lobbyist for several Florida local municipalities.  For sixteen years, he has directed the firm’s state lobbying business.

Jordan worked in the State of Florida Washington Office for Governor Lawton Chiles as as senior policy analyst.  During his tenure, he worked on important issues such as the Everglades Restoration project and a multi-billion dollar federal disaster relief package for Hurricane Andrew.  He served as Liaison between the state of Florida and the Florida Congressional Delegation.

Jordan served as the chief state lobbyist for the Home Health Services and Staffing Association (HHSSA) in Alexandria, Virginia, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in Washington, D.C.
